Ah Loy Thai!!!!

As u all know i am going to Bangkok soon. So to ready and prepare my taste buds for the local cuisine there. I got a recommendation from a thai for an authenthic thai food experience that doesnt break the bank.

She didnt know the name of the stall but just the general directions but she highly recommend it as its the most authenthic "cheap" thai food in Singapore in her opinion. So i asked Guishan along to join me to find this Thai food stall at Shaw Towers, personally i am not a indo-china cuisine fan but i went there with an open mind ready to try!

As it turns out it wasnt difficult to find the place as Shaw Towers is pretty small. We couldnt go wrong as there as only one thai restaurant there.

Ah Loy Thai!

Sawatdee!

Business is pretty good despite the quiet location.

Pink Guava Juice, this is very tangy and sweet but still rather refreshing.

Tom Yum Seafood. How could you miss this? Really value for money at less than $6, it has a strong flavour which is not diluted and lots of squid, mushrooms and other ingredients. Fantastic! 

Mango Salad. This was interesting but we didnt really like it as it tasted too raw and sour, it uses unripe mango strips. Probably not to my taste.

Phad Thai, which is a kind of stir fried noodles in Thai Style. Kinda like the local Hokkien Mee. Its fragrant and has a good blend of flavour to it.

Thai Crispy Chicken. Okay this is not really traditional thai stuff but they fried the chicken wings very well. Light batter but very crispy. The meat doesnt taste flat like breast meat and u can feel a good texture to it. 

Dessert time!

Instead of the usual chendol Ah Loy serves Romitt, its signature thai chendol recipe. It has generous servings of jelly, nate de coco and other colourful compliments. There is also a strong taste of coconut milk.

The taste strongly resembles Bobo Cha Cha.

Mango served with Glutinous Rice, a surprisingly pleasant combination of sweetness and saltiness.

Sungei Buloh trip....Sucks..

Went to Sungei Buloh with David and Guishan yesterday. First met David to go refuel. 

As-Shiffa Cafe at Lucky Plaza. Tucked in one corner, Syaza and Joan brought me here the last time. The Nasi Ayam Goreng is dam nice man!

Although fried and super unhealthy with artery clogging cholesterol, its too irresistable dam nice chicken which can go fight KFC one. YUM YUM YUM!

After that Mr Gangster Guishan at Kranji to go Sungei Buloh. Bloody gangster eat nasi lemak on the bus, pollute the whole bus with nasi fragrance.

My luck was bad that day, no birds to shoot and i was not interested in the little spiders..so not many shots.
